Since the age of four, my family, friends, and teachers have seen me grow from a young kid to a student to a teacher and eventually an author, documenting the art of Tabla: an Indian classical percussion instrument played with one's hands. Through my many teachers - each learning from influential people in this realm, for example, late Zakhir Hussain and Pandit Swapan Chodri - I have shaped my melody to compete and place at various Tabla competitions on the international level traveling to New York, London, and other major cities.

In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic struck the world, forcing Amar to take his classes from in person to online.
Teaching across a new platform, it was quickly realized how challenging it is to introduce and share beginner techniques without being there in person. In order to provide students a basic foundation, Amar wrote “A Beginners Guide to Tabla”, showcasing and explaining the steps for fundamental keystrokes and rhythms of Tabla. After spending many months reviewing and getting positive feedback, Amar officially self-published his book.
